In case you haven’t seen already, the astrology world has had a bit of a shake up the past week or so. Somehow, something the Babylonians decided to leave out over 3,000 years ago has resurfaced and had the world going crazy right now in 2020. Brace yourselves – there is a new star sign and we’re here to see how that effects your approach to work.
NASA was quick to the chase and wrote their own blog post in which they stated they had actually made no change to the zodiac – despite numerous articles circulating and suggesting otherwise. The space agency pointed out that astrology (which is not a science) is separate from astronomy (which is).
The art of astrology is the study of the movements and relative positions of celestial bodies interpreted as having an influence on human affairs and the natural world. Put simply: where the planets were when you were born and how the universe stood indicates how you are as a person – including your approach to work.
Which leads us to our burning question: what does your star sign say about your work routine?
First up, Aquarius. (January 21 – February 19)
Aquarius tend to be fiercely independent and when left to their own devices create their best work. They’re usually the best tempered out of the bunch too. It is very important for them to have a time frame to work within, otherwise, the one project turns into five, leaving the original project unfinished. More than anything, this star sign love their work to have a purpose – corporate work tends not to be best suited for them.
Pisces (February 20 – March 20)
They love to be the fountain of creative inspiration but sometimes get stuck in their own bubble. We can assure you that a Pisces phone will be full of screenshots of work they’ve seen that they will use for later inspiration for a future project. They’ll do whatever it takes to get a project the best it could possibly be – so long hours don’t scare them. Their love of hard and good work makes them an ideal candidate for any role in the marketing industry – Regan, from our Design Team, is a Pisces.
Aries (March 21 – April 20)
If you know an Aries, you’ll know they’re best described in one word: extra. This star sign is very dedicated to their work – but very impulsive and full of ambition. They’ll overstep their boundaries without knowing but change the game entirely when they do. Much like the Aquarius, they require a little extra focus due to their excitable nature but produce work that will have been perfected and edited to have the best possible end result. Joe, from our Content Team, is an Aries.
Taurus (April 21 – May 21)
The rock of the workplace, incredibly dependable and unfazed by work drama. The stubborn yet lovable Taurus love to keep themselves to themselves, you’ll never find them gossiping at the water cooler. They are known to be slightly possessive and take over during projects – keep that ego in check and they’re the perfect leader.
Gemini (May 22 – June 21)
Both adaptable and versatile, this star sign love communication when they work. It could be through the form of a good meme or the latest office gossip. Their attitude to work life can be a little inconsistent due to the fact they are incredibly easily distracted. Don’t let that fool you, they’re sweethearts at heart and quick to offer up solutions to problems. Tim, our Head of Design, and Ruby of our Content Team are both Geminis.
Cancer (June 22 – July 22)
This zodiac sign is known for being the most caring of co-workers – but in ways you won’t even notice. They’re prone to staying in their shell but are very hard workers. They manage the firm but fair balance well, making them brilliant for management or becoming the ‘mamma hen’ of the office. Their ability to multitask and problem solve paired with their ‘get shit done’ attitude takes them far in the professional world. Kirsty, our Head of Operations, is a Cancer. As is India, one of our Design Team.
Leo (July 23 – August 21)
If you’re looking for someone to take the lead in a project with no hesitation, that’s Leo’s time to shine. It’s part of the reason their sign is a lion, they’re born leaders. Their love for being the centre of attention doesn’t come from a place of malice but, in fact, comes from simply wanting everyone in their environment to be happy. They’ll also be the first to put their hands up when something goes awry and fix it. Cameron from our Paid Social Team and Jamie from our PPC Team are both Leos!
Virgo (August 22 – September 23)
Diligent but a bit of a worrier. When tasked with a large project, they’re eager to get stuck right in – problems and all. They’re very meticulous with their work, wanting the very best outcome, especially when it comes to a project their heart is going into. Often the smartest in the room but the least likely to brag about it. Not one for being chatty but over-thinkers for sure. Once they’re on the right track, there is no stopping them though. Brilliant team members when it comes to anything with numbers. Both Anna from our Paid Social Team and Rhyse from our PPC Team are Virgos
Libra (September 24 – October 23)
Without a doubt, the most thoughtful member of the zodiac. By far the most methodical of the bunch. Do you know that coworker who never makes mistakes, like ever? Put money on them being a Libra. They’re the ultimate people-pleaser and charmer! Making them the go-to person in the office when someone needs help. Both our Head of Content, Aimee, and one of our Paid Social Team, Tom, are Libras!
Scorpio (October 24- November 22)
A force to be reckoned with when it comes to management, always going above and beyond for their team members – this is because they’re so career-focused. Their fierce independence makes them great leaders but can come across as intimidating to anyone who doesn’t know them very well. They’re not here to waste time, they came to get stuff done.
Sagittarius (November 23 – December 22)
If you know a Sagittarius already, you don’t need to be told they’re the most fun to be around. They’re constantly coming up with innovative and fresh ideas for stuff. Real out-of-the-box thinkers! Think of them as a refreshing cup of coffee on a Monday morning. They can be incredibly straightforward with others whilst not coming across as overbearing, making them the ideal person for an agency.
Capricorn (December 23 – January 20)
A little reserved when it comes to working in big teams but are very hard workers nonetheless. If you want work doing properly then stop by the desk of a Capricorn. They thrive from routine and a no-surprises attitude toward their work – with contingency plans in place for even the most minor of setbacks. Give this star sign some work and they’ll have it done days beforehand.
Whether you believe it or not, you do have to admit that everyone loves flicking to *that* page in the newspaper and seeing what that day has in store for them. Some people outright believe it’s a bunch of hooey. Either way, you can’t deny some of the traits are true – even if a little bit. Learning tidbits about your own personality can be interesting regardless. Plus, it makes for a fun interview question if nothing else.
