In the midst of the prep for the Q4 period, we're here to introduce you to a brand new face. Say hello to Holly, our brand new (and first) Junior TikTok Presenter! We sat down and chatted away with the Manchester newbie who shared her love for all things musical theatre and Eurovision.
The Work Stuff 📈
Tell us about your background. What led you to DMT?
I graduated from the University of Warwick this summer and knew my dream job was to be a Presenter. I was just very lucky that my search led me to DMT (I literally came to Manchester for the first time for my interview!)
What is something unique that you think you bring to the role?
As the role is new, I think I bring an element of creativity which helps create a strategy for each client. Also, I bring my personality to the role; I think I’m quite lucky that my job lets me be myself on screen every day.
What’s something you want your colleagues to know about you?
My desk drawer is like Mary Poppins’ bag. If there’s anything you need, I probably have it in there.
The Personal Stuff 👨💻
What three words would your friends use to describe you?
Driven, outgoing, and creative.
What’s your favourite cultural moment of this past year and why?
I’m a big fan of Eurovision, and I think this year, in particular, was monumental for two reasons. The first reason was for the UK coming 2nd; I watched it on my uni campus with thousands of students, and the atmosphere was electric. I also think it was a great display of support for Ukraine after being invaded by Russia earlier in the year.
What’s your hobby or passion project outside of work?
I’ve been dancing since I was 3. I’m trained in 8 different dance styles and used to compete when I was younger; think Dance Moms but in the UK. I’ve been teaching musical theatre for the past year, which I’ve loved; I think the office has heard me singing along to the radio daily, and it’s only been a few weeks. I also love cooking and baking; not quite Bake-Off standard yet. And I love travelling; I’ve booked to go to Brussels for my Birthday in December.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Michael Bublé - not guilty, as it’s a genuine pleasure of mine - and he isn’t just for Christmas; he’s for all year round!
What causes are you supportive of, and why?
I am a big supporter of many cancer charities, such as Sarcoma UK and MacMillan, after having many friends and family battle the disease. I am also passionate about WWF and the Greenwood Farm Animal Sanctuary supporting animal safety and nature conservation.
The Fun Stuff 🥂
Give us your best Manchester bar recommendation.
I’ve been in Manchester for a few weeks, so my experience is limited, but I’d have to say Albert Schloss and Smithfield Social.
If you were a social media platform, which one would you be and why?
It feels illegal not to say TikTok - but it’s true - I’m fast-paced, concise, and not afraid to try new things!
Who would be your five dream dinner party guests, dead or alive?
Whitney Houston, Michael Bublé, Taylor Swift, Harry Styles, and Emma Thompson (I’ll keep Taylor and Harry at opposite ends.)
Quickfire Qs 🎯
What are you watching?
At the moment, STRICTLY but also Grey’s Anatomy - for the second time…
What are you reading?
Never Greener by Ruth Jones.
What are you listening to?
My new car playlist. A confusing mixture of modern pop, musicals, ABBA, and 80’s bangers. My current fave is Complex by Katie Gregson-Macleod.
Who are you ignoring?
Shopping emails - I do have an unhealthy addiction to online shopping.
Who are you following?
GalsWhoGraduate. This page has saved me since graduation and has been so informative and encouraging to see as a new grad in the working world (follow the page!)
Thanks for sharing, Holly. We can't wait to show you all our favourite bars and see what tasty treats you rustle up for the office!
